Frequently Asked Questions

EGDS is a diester with a minimum diester content of 85 percent, appearing as white flakes with a melting range of 62 to 70 degrees Celsius. It is widely used as a pearlescent and opacifying agent in personal care formulations.

EGDS functions as a pearlizing agent in shampoos, liquid soaps, and bath and shower gels, giving these formulations their characteristic shimmering visual appearance while supporting consistent aesthetics through processing and storage.

In creams, lotions, and conditioners, EGDS functions as an opacifier rather than a pearlizing agent, helping these formulations maintain a consistent, uniform visual appearance rather than a shimmering one.
