DESCRIPTION

SOL Sorbitan tri oleate is produced by the esterification of Sorbitol with oleic acid.

Sorbitan Trioleate, also known as SOL STO, is produced through the esterification of sorbitol with oleic acid. It appears as a yellow to amber viscous oily liquid and contains a minimum of 70 per cent oleic acid.

SOL STO is used in emulsion explosives, pigments, and as a wetting agent across cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, and other industrial applications.

SOL STO has an HLB value of 1.8, which is low on the HLB scale. This makes it more lipophilic in nature, generally suiting it to applications where oil-phase compatibility matters.
